Genesis Publications have announced the release of Adding The Blue by Chrissie Hynde. Featuring oil paintings by the legendary musician, Adding The Blue presents nearly 200 original artworks for the very first time, accompanied by introductory text and captions in Chrissie’s own words.
The artist’s first collection of paintings is presented chronologically, beginning with still life studies and culminating in vibrant abstract compositions.
To support the book, Chrissie Hynde will be presenting an exhibition of selected works from the book to After Nyne Gallery from Tuesday, November 6th.
Hyde says “I always thought I would get into painting, but I got waylaid by rock ’n’ roll. Finally, I thought, ‘Now’s the time.’ As soon as I was in a situation where I could be alone and paint without any interruptions, I just couldn’t stop.”
Working exclusively in oil on canvas, her art encompasses a wide variety of subjects including figures, portraits of friends and family, self-portraits and landscapes.
Adding The Blue is a vibrant book of oil paintings that are, in Brian Eno’s words, ‘full of life, love and discovery’. Adding The Blue will delight her worldwide fanbase, as well as fellow painters and fine art enthusiasts.
