New Light Art Prize Exhibition shines a light on Northern Art and this June comes to one of London’s most renowned galleries. A region often overlooked, the New Light Prize Exhibition is a thought provoking display that provides a platform for both well-known and emerging Northern artists, celebrating and supporting the growth of creativity in the North of England.
From 26th June 2018 the New Light Art Prize Exhibition will be showcasing some of the North’s finest artists along with the winner of the Valeria Sykes Award at Bankside Gallery. The exhibition will feature a wide range of work that champions the inherent skills involved in painting, drawing and printmaking.
“This year’s Prize Exhibition is our biggest yet – from over 2200 applications seventy-two artists were selected to take part. Also our tour has the most venues and runs for over a year – starting in November 2017 and running through until January 2019. The common thread through all we do is a deep belief that the visual arts matter and the North of England deserves to be celebrated,” artist and CEO Emerson Mayes told After Nyne.
From the hyperreal to the purely abstract, the exhibition celebrates paintings, sculpture, prints and drawings by artists at all stages of their career, and from all corners of the North.
The exhibition runs until 1st July 2018 at London’s Bankside Gallery, with all works on display for sale, find out more details here.
