Empty Deck Theatre Co Launch Scandi-Noir Touring Season

We have our eye on Empty Deck….a London-based, all female-led theatre production company who are launching Season Scandinavia, a programme of the most exciting and contemporary plays coming out of Norway, Sweden and Denmark.

Nordic Noir fans will love it.

The season will be soft launched with  ‘The Day Brad Pitt Got Paranoia’ by award winning playwright Christian Lollike, on Friday 30th October 2015 at The Other Room Theatre in Cardiff and will then tour on a UK wide run of performances scheduled for 2016.

Director Kay Michael comments ‘Cross cultural and theatrical exchange is at the heart of what Empty Deck believes in. We wanted to highlight the exciting work coming out of Scandinavia and provide a platform for these talented playwrights to showcase their work here in the UK’.

The season has the approval of Jesper Berggman, who has worked for Danish Broadcasting and as Chief Dramaturge at the Royal Danish Theatre who says “Nobody foresaw that The Killing would prove to be just the first of a number of Danish television drama successes in the UK; I hope that new Danish drama will prove just as attractive to the theatre in Britain. Empty Deck, under the artistic direction of Kay Michael, is boldly making this a reality and doing so with distinct vision.”
