How to Wear Those Summer “Staples” Now it’s Freezing. (Without Tights….)

I don’t know about the rest of the country but this last week London weather has gone into full winter mode. Heavy rain, stronger winds and yesterday I even had to put my heating on! But fear not, those skimpy summer pieces you bought on sale can be carried through to autumn and even winter.

You have: Off the shoulder 70’ vibe top

This was your go-to summer top. You threw it on with some denim cut off, vintage sunnies and felt like the coolest groupie. Replace your cut-offs with mom jeans or if your feeling super 70’s some flared jeans, cover up with a faux fur body warmer and you’ll still look like you spent your summer on tour.

We all own one. That dress you wear on the hottest day of the year. Skimpy, light, makes you look super tanned etc. Remember that chunky knit polo you got last year- layer up with that underneath. Personally I hate tights so thigh high boots and a fedora it is.

You hardly took this off all summer. It gave you just that right amount of warmth while being easy enough to stuff in your bag when the sun finally came out. You can still wear this everyday throughout winter, its super easy. Grab your trusted black cami, then layer your kimono and finish off with a blanket cardi. Pair with black skinnies, a massive handbag and messy hair for perfect Olsen style layering.

Everyone brought one this summer. Whether it is suede, denim or cord we all have at least one lurking in our wardrobe. Reminding us of shaven, tanned legs. This piece is perfect for serving up back to school (but not really) realness. Keep it simple with a crisp white shirt tucked in, knee high socks and Dr martin shoes. To really take it to the next level add a rucksack and hair bow. Super cute.
