London Fashion Week is now in full swing, and the After Nyne team is working around the clock to bring you all the news you need to know about (- don’t forget to follow us on Instagram for the latest updates). To kick off proceedings, our Fashion Editor joined a star-studded gathering packed into Freemasons’ Hall to witness Lan Nguyen-Grealis make Fashion Week history – by opening Fashion Scout’s jam-packed schedule with a make-up show…
Celebrating the launch of her stunning book, Art & Makeup (shot by Rankin), Lan transformed the space into an enchanting fairytale forest, complete with dancing nymphs and live musicians, fit to showcase her breathtaking looks – inspirations ranging from Picasso to Cleopatra – in a live runway show presided over by A-list fans and collaborators including Paloma Faith, who tells us, “She’s not a makeup artist, she is simply an artist”.
Lan, currently the youngest winner of the Golden Mask Award on record, dedicated the show “to the man who said I was only a beautician and makeup is just a bit of slap on the face”. Well, he just got told – no words necessary.
