Fashion Scout’s Ones To Watch have been selected and finalised to feature JS Shin, Anita Hirlekar, Leaf Xia and Typical Freaks who After Nyne had the pleasure of collaborating with with on Issue 7. The diversity of backgrounds from each designer stretching from origins of China and Iceland has led to Fashion Scout’s founder and director Martyn Roberts promising this ”to be our most exciting season ever.”
London College of Fashion graduate Joon-Sik Shin uses his background in Italian tailoring to produce his luxurious and elegant pieces. With inspiration for his last collection from cobblestones in the street, the showcase is set to be monumental with inclusion of his signature luxe tailoring and handcraft.
Graduates of Central Saint Martins and London College of Fashion Seun Ade-Onojobi and Sonia Xiao have collaborated to create the successful brand Typical Freaks. The brand encounters eccentricity and humour into their pieces and formats a unique and fun line with bright colours and interesting designs.
Anita Hirlekar graduated from Central Saint Martins with an MA in textiles. She launched her label in Iceland in 2014 which featured a unique composition of bold colours and innovative fabrications.
Leaf Xia is a New York based designer of whom has graduated from Parsons the New School of Design. The designer’s pieces portray a considerable sum of detail through a predominant focus on collage and its creative colour scheme.
