Afternoon all, this week we’ve got a properly summery playlist for you all to enjoy! Soak up the rays listening to these gorgeous tunes and tweet the list @AfterNyne
Terrace – Special Place
Terrace unveiled the dreamy and tranquil video for “Special Place” with Songwriting Magazine. The video is set in a utopia with beaches, cities at dusk and long highways, to accompany the uplifting summer-vibes of the track. We love the summery relaxed vibes, definitely one for fans of Phoenix and Holy Ghost.
VICTORIA – Summertime
VICTORIA are Alex Thomas (guitar), Charlie Martin (keys), Chris Moore (drums), Harry Johnson (bass) and Joe Housley (vocals), five young guys who live in London and eat, sleep and breathe music – all masters of their craft – skilled players, songwriters and composers. Refreshingly, the band make unashamed pop-rock – infectious, feel-good anthems – from their North London house share. Their latest offering, ‘Summertime’, the new single set for release in August is an uplifting track that encapsulates the spirit of the often short-lived British summertime that rouses us briefly from hibernation year after year.
The Winachi Tribe – Time For Love
The psychedelic funk of George Clinton, the brooding menace of Massive Attack, the rolling hypnotic beats of Happy Mondays and the vision and flow of Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five are all essential ingredients to the sound and style of The Winachi Tribe, a sonic soul, electro funk collective who are unconstrained by boundaries or formulas, musically or culturally.
Flamingods – Quesso (Esmink Remix)
It’s in Flamingods’ nature to wish to re-invent themselves at every turn, and with this in mind Moon sees the ceremonial splendour and fevered abstraction of their debut album Sun reconfigured by a choice selection of remixers. “We love to make people dance,” say the band. “It’s part of the nature of our live shows and we also love collaborating. Getting someone to study and understand your music and interpret it in a different way is something that really interests us.”
