After Nyne Weekend Playlist 12/6/15

Happy friday all!  Music Editor Lulu Jones is back with a fresh playlist to delight all your ears.  Let us know what you think, share the list with your friends and tweet @AfterNyne.

The Curious Incident – Please Don’t Stay

London based four piece made up of Cavey, Mirko, Dan and Diaz create catchy pop tinged rock, for fans of Crystal Fighters, Vampire Weekend and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Brought to our music editors attention through Sound Cloud, these guys are also gigging with an After Nyne favourite Youth Club, and are playing various dates around the UK this summer.

Many Things – Burn Together

Many Things have spent the past couple of years recording the album between the UK, Germany and Australia, whilst releasing a series of killer singles and EP’s and playing their energetic, inspiring and often euphoric live shows. The band have been stirring up a groundswell of hype ever since their London genesis. Their short existence has already seen them championed by the likes of NME, Clash and Radio One. They will be announcing live dates shortly, that will see them touring the UK, Europe and Australia over the rest of the year.  ‘Burn Together’ is out on June 22nd.

Infinity Girl – Firehead

Forged in the crucible of the Boston underground and now based in Brooklyn, New York, Infinity Girl is a four-piece American guitar band. The act emerged in 2012 with a startlingly whole and reverent shoegaze sound on its debut full length, ‘Stop Being On My Side,’ a set that was equal parts haunting melody and ear-bleeding power. An EP, ‘Just Like Lovers,’ followed in late 2012 and again propounded Infinity Girl’s refreshing proclivity for bending classic song forms toward its will to experiment.

AIR BAG ONE– You’ve Got Somethin’

Cameroon-born, France-based, duo called AIR BAG ONE have just shared their brand new single ‘You’ve Got Somethin’. Sitting somewhere between Everything Everything, Phoenix – and with more than a few nods to 80s pop as well – the group are drawing a swell of attention for their glistening modern pop.  After dropping their debut single ‘1992, AIR BAG ONE headed to SXSW this past March, gaining fans and turning heads with their unique blend of 80’s-infused electronic pop containing catchy lyrics and anthemic choruses.

Michael Vidal – Dreams (Come Back To Me)

Michael Vidal has stepped out of the combustible, hyper-color tropical punk of his former group, Abe Vigoda, and onto his own into more pastoral, lush territory. Dream Center is Vidal’s inaugural work, originally released onto cassette in 2013 from LA label Big Joy, reissued onto all additional formats from Couple Skate.
