Eera – White Water
‘White Water’ serves a stunning introduction to EERA’s forthcoming debut EP, released later this year – a four-track offering, recorded and produced with Nick Rayner (Farewell J.R.) at his home studio in Cambridge. The EP recites random states of consciousness and snapshots through time; a musical scrapbook, if you will… “My lyrics are based on images, rather than storylines,” EERA explains. “For me, it’s about creating imagery and wordplay that means something quite different to each individual.”
Heroes in Hiding – Today, I Mean It
The alternative Folk Rock band released their 1st EP ‘Hush’ in March 2014, which saw the band gain a vast amount of radio coverage in Ireland. Following the success of the EP, HIH were booked as the only Irish act to play at Secret Solstice International Music and Arts Festival in Iceland, HIH played alongside the likes of Disclosure, Massive Attack, Banks, Skream, and Eats Everything.
Andrea Balency – Simone
Having stood out for, and built her persona in the ‘cutely-breathy-females scene’ (The Guardian), Andrea Balency demonstrates a much more rich, more mature, more strong, vocal ability. Her voice has always been a key strength in her arsenal, yet she has discovered a new way to utilise it, finding a beautiful relationship between voice and drums, as if the voice is the thumping heart of a big storm.
Terrace – Cote D’azur
Terrace hail from Vancouver and have a relatively simple mission plan: to make breezy, unpretentious pop music that you can dance to. Thus far, the Canadian troupe have completely nailed it. A band to file alongside the likes of Holy Ghost, Phoenix or even Air, Terrace match glistening guitar lines to sighing vocals and sun-kissed electronics.
Postcards From Jeff – Suburban Girl
From the windswept valleys of a very British countryside to pastel hue dreams of Hollywood darlings, ‘Suburban Girl’ – the brand new track taken from the forthcoming debut album of Yorkshire producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Postcard from Jeff – further explores a love of Lynchian style, in particular, Twin Peaks’ tragic heroine Laura Palmer.
