Future Talent on Display at Regent’s School of Fashion & Design Final Year Degree Exhibitions

Regent’s University London’s School of Fashion & Design will host catwalk shows and a private view of students’ final year degree exhibitions from 5:00-8:30pm on Thursday 14th May.

Taking place at Regent’s Marylebone Campus the fashion shows and exhibitions are located at:

Marking the peak of between three and four years’ study, each project will demonstrate the creative and commercial ideas of the 55 students’ original and individual work.

The event will feature exhibitions of interior design, graphics, illustration, fashion, digital media and foundation work, with industry, press, VIPS, Regent’s students, staff, graduates and other guests from around the world in attendance.

Guests will also witness the announcement of ‘The Little Greene Award’ for one final-year Interior Design student exhibiting innovative use of colour and space in a unique collaboration between Little Greene (www.littlegreene.com) and Regent’s University London.

Interior Design students are required to identify new, commercial or social opportunities that could be presented to real clients – from local companies to government bodies – and be realised. These proposals are interiors, spaces or places that do not currently exist and ask the question – why not?

Communication Design students have faced an intensive, industry-relevant course to help them master bold and self-inspired imagery alongside successful brand collaboration. Live projects include corporate e-card design, specialist magazine-cover illustrations, merchandise development and retail event branding.

Fashion Design and Fashion Design with Marketing

This year students have produced Final Collections of six outfits after deciding on a theme or a concept for their collection, and then designing and constructing the outfits themselves. All of the students showing this year are from other countries including, Italy, Norway, Russia and Japan. The various themes include references to Koi carp, contemporary art, rice paddies, wolves, Pierot and cracked surfaces.

Fashion Marketing This year’s projects reflect contemporary trends centred on fast-moving social and technology changes. They explore the different ways in which social and digital media integrate with consumer lifestyles. Themes include evolving fashion tribes, experiential retailing and fashion apps. Plus-size, genderless fashion, male grooming and sustainability projects also challenge traditional fashion narratives.

Following the private view launch, the Regent’s School of Fashion & Design Degree Exhibitions will be open to the public until 29 May.
