The Fondation Louis Vuitton presents a new hang of its Collection centred on its Popist and Music /Sound lines from June 3, 2015.

In an echo of the show ‘Keys to a Passion’, running until July 6, the third phase in the inaugural programme of exhibiting the Collection, Hang 3, will feature a raft of artworks focusing on its popist and music / sound lines.

The first axis, popist, centres on works that testify to the ongoing interest of artists for objects and images that, since the advent of the consumer society, are being vehicled by advertising, television, cinema and the Internet.

The artists presented are: Jennifer Allora & Guillermo Calzadilla, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Mohamed Bourouissa, Gilbert & George, Andreas Gursky, Bertrand Lavier, Adam McEwen, Michel Majerus, Christian Marclay, Philippe Parreno, Richard Prince, Sturtevant, Andy Warhol.

The second axis, music/sound proposes work in the form of environments, sculptures and video. Be it symphonic, popular, choral or instrumental, music is integral to the work of the artists presented.

The artists presented are: Marina Abramovic, Pilar Albarracín, Ziad Antar, Ulla von Brandenburg, John Cage, Rineke Dijkstra, Cyprien Gaillard, Douglas Gordon, Mark Leckey, Philippe Parreno,Jaan Toomik, Hannah Weinberger.

The display culminates with a presentation of works by Thomas Schütte and of the commission work by Cerith Wyn Evans.

From July 25, the third hang will be enhanced by the screening of videos based on sources from popular music, to be exhibited in the ground-floor rooms.

As a reminder, the second hang, currently on show until 18 May, 2015, exhibits a selection of works from the Collection, concentrating on the expressionist and contemplative lines.

It features works by: Wolfgang Tillmans, Isa Genzken, Ed Atkins, Annette Messager, Maurizio Cattelan, Alberto Giacometti, and Rachel Harrison for the expressionist axis, and works by Sigmar Polke, Tacita Dean, Bas Jan Ader, Giuseppe Penone, Thomas Schütte, Mona Hatoum, Nam June Paik, and Akram Zaatar, for the contemplative axis.
