The Albany Opens its Doors after Remodel

Located on Great Portland Street a stone’s throw from Regent’s Park and Marylebone, The Albany has always been a popular choice for local office workers and passing tourists alike. Throwing open its doors after a thorough refit, the new-look pub is all the more appealing. Not sold on just a smartened-up interior, revamped food offer and innovatively stocked cellar? Then check out ‘The Other Place’ the pub’s brand new basement bar offering the three ‘B’s: low-lit booths, plenty of beer and a regular line up of live bands.

The upstairs of The Albany retains its down-to-earth charm and is a smart but steadfastly pubby affair. Muted tones of grey and blue provide anelegant backdrop to a ceiling of chandeliers, with plenty of tables set out for dining and drinking. Below ground at newbie bar ‘The Other Place’ things get a little more rock ‘n’ roll – with an intimate raised stage, neon lights, reclaimed school-style seating and concrete walls masked by vintage music posters.

From local London breweries such as Meantime and Camden and seasonally rotating guest beers, to some of the best lagers from Europe and beyond, The Albany’s cellar is sure to capture the interest of beer-thusiasts. Wine lovers aren’t left out with a handpicked range of great value grapes from across the globe, as well as independent spirits and house-made soft drinks for summer.

Whether it’s a mid-week lunch with colleagues, an after work burger from the dedicated menu, a weekend roast or selection of bar snacks whilst catching a band downstairs, The Albany’s menu has something for everyone.

Tuck into a range of regularly rotating dishes such as starters of Pan-Fried Chorizo with Focaccia; Roasted Chicken Caesar Salad and mains including Pan-fried Salmon Fillet with Asparagus, Heritage Potatoes & Wild GarlicPesto and Chicken, Leek & Ham Hock Ham Pie with Mash, Braised Carrots & Seasonal Vegetables.

Perk up that lunch hour with sandwiches jam-packed with proper fillings including fish fingers and rib-eye steak; weekend brunch features Granola with Raspberry & Peach Fruit Compote & Natural Yoghurt and Eggy Bread with Grilled Bacon & Maple Syrup; and Sunday roasts are serious business and come with all the trimmings.
