In what is fast becoming one of the most exciting art projects of the year so far, Fifty Children Fifty Artists has announced an exhibition of all fifty portraits, each of a Tower Hamlets-based child, at the Shoreditch Town Hall between 23rd – 27th March.
Artists include Emma Sergeant, Daphne Guinness, Christian Furr, Robbie Wraith, James Lloyd, John Wragg, Tai Shan Schieren, Michael Frith, Eileen Cooper and Jessica Albarn.
Tower Hamlets has one of the highest rates of child deprivation in the UK. The Fifty Children Fifty Artists art project was launched by the charity Miracles UK in January 2014 to help raise awareness of such extreme child poverty in one of London’s most exciting and eclectic boroughs.
The project hopes to bring attention to the huge problem the borough faces and raise money in donations and sponsorships in a positive and engaging way, that not only supports those in need, but offers the Tower Hamlets children an exciting and long-lasting experience.
